Currently in the SSP login, you need to file the notification of merger to the institute within 30 days of merger. The (2 or more) merging firm names will be freezed by the Insitute. This name(s) will not be made available for other new CA registrations for a period of 5 years. You may be asked for a new name for the merged firm according to the naming conventions/rules of ICAI. The advantages of merger is that the new merged firm will have the seniority of the oldest firm(s) being merged. You need to upload a merger document in the SSP Portal of the ICAI. You may have to file a new partnership deed / reconstitution agreement with the respective Registrar.
